Roof Dissection

Our contractors use both IKO and CertainTeed shingles, the top brands among roofing material producers. Both IKO and CertainTeed shingle series offer various style options, moisture protection, and performance technology that protects your shingles from wind uplift.

Both smooth shank nails and cap nails are used to secure underlayment and shingles to your roof. We always use 6 nails per shingle to ensure the shingles will withstand hurricane velocity winds exceeding 130mph once installed.

This is the layer inserted between the shingles and decking, to ensure the shingles do not lie directly on the wood decking, creating the last layer of protection if wind uplift were to occur. Synthetic Underlayment is a PVC and fiberglass woven material - that offers superior sealing capabilities and creates full protection from water running down the nail shaft.

This waterproof asphalt membrane fastens to the roof decking to prevent ice and water damage in the valleys of the roof. It is especially important to use in those valleys due to the high water traffic and on the perimeter of the roof where ice and snow can form and cause damage. We upgrade our clients to this membrane from valley metal that is commonly mis-used to protect against ice and water.

If you have a chimney, you should also have a chimney cap. This protects your roof and home from the following: animals, a cover from the rain, and stops fireplace embers that could land on your roof and set your roof on fire. It can also protect your chimney from leaf and branch debris if there are overhanging trees nearby.

A drip edge is installed at the edge of the roof to guide water flow into the gutter and away from the fascia. It is a metal sheet in an L-shape, that protects the shingles from water build up and water that could flow under the shingle itself.

Ridge vents are installed at the pinnacle of the roof’s peak, allowing heat to evacuate your attic. The vents prolong the roof life and can raise the energy efficiency.

Roof flashing is a thin metal sheet secured when two surfaces meet or at heavy runoff areas such as the chimney, dormers, and siding to prevent standing water. Flashing is an essential feature in the roof structure to protect your home from water leaks or water puddles.

This is a piece of enforced flashing composed of light weight metal that is made to secure joints and pipes that connect to the roof such as plumbing vent pipes and electrical service mast pipes. It's made to cover pipe penetrations and prevent possible leaks where the pipe meets the roof.

A stunning addition to incorporate natural lighting to your home that also looks amazing on the exterior of your house. This exclusive amenity adds lots of resale value to your home as well as makes your home more energy efficient.

Roof vents allow for your attic to ventilate correctly which aids in mitigating temperature throughout the home. Roof vents provide notable benefits for your home including increasing energy efficiency and hindering premature aging of your roof caused by condensation. Our contractors are skilled in determining the correct number of exhaust and intake vents based on your specific roof.

Spire Roofing Solutions uses the highest-grade sealant available, an elastomeric polyurethane sealant which is a synthetic product that doesn't break down in the sun like many other asphalt-based sealants. Elastomeric polyurethane is eco-friendly and does not give off any fumes or gases.

“A great experience all the way around and the new roof looks great! The workers were all very professional. They laid down tarps to ensure that nails & shingle material didn't get in the lawn or flower beds. They did a great job on the roof and also in the clean up work. Good price for outstanding quality and service.”
